Inmate Aftercare Housing and Programs
We believe as chaplains to the incarcerated that inmate housing is key to providing a life style change for the men and women seeking a positive environment to grow as productive members of our communities. The Magic Valley Chaplains ministry supports the Aftercare Programs and housing facilities listed below, and we pray you will also.
1 Cor. 15:33 tells us “Bad company corrupts good morals”. Proverbs 13:20 says “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm”. 1 John 1:3 says “that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

Adult and Teen Challenge is a long-term residential discipleship program. We help people to become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive.
Students' identities are rebuilt upon the knowledge of whom they were created and chosen to be. Children of God. Faith is believing in God for the impossible. Students learn how to invite God to help them overcome their life-controlling problems. Students are shown a model for forgiveness and repair. Relationships and hope for the future are restored.
We are putting Hope within reach of every addict with a student-centered comprehensive approach to recovery.

History
In 2003 the calling was heard for outside chaplains and transition housing and our founders stepped up to answer the need. Purchasing the St. Benedict Nuns boarding house created the Risen House a hidden pocket of peace. In 2016 a changing of the guard launched our current leadership. The Nun’s stove to “serve the whole person, body, mind, and Spirit.” We also carry that spirit on in how we approach our residents. We believe completely in serving.

Our Mission Statement
To support young adults impacted by the foster care system and at-risk youth by providing safe, stable, and affordable housing, as well as education and support services, as they transition to independent living.
The Twin Falls Optimist Youth House focuses on helping these young adults ages 18 - 23 both male and female to overcome hurdles associated with employment, education, and independent living. While our program does include housing it is not supervised living. We do have residential advisors who live on the property and an executive director who keeps to regulates business hours and has an office on the property. There are also rules and expectations for conduct when at the house. The participants however are afforded a lot of freedom and are welcome to come and go as they please. Participants are admitted by applying and being approved by a committee. This means we are not able to provide emergency housing.
